Are you working on a novel or play? Are you looking for a keen editorial eye to provide you with constructive feedback that will help you take your manuscript to the next level? Then you're in the right place!

Kevin Christopher Snipes is now offering editorial and dramaturgical services for writers who are looking for help with their creative projects. In addition to being an internationally published author, Kevin has over seven years of experience working in literary offices in New York City (including the Public Theater and Labyrinth Theater), where he helped shepherd countless playwrights and authors through the creative process. Whether you've just finished a first draft or your project is still a work-in-progress, Kevin will provide tailored feedback that is specific to your needs.

When working with Kevin, writers will receive the following:

1. An editorial letter with Kevin's feedback. This letter will focus on the larger (macro) issues of your project: plotting, character, dialogue, theme, structure, pacing, etc. It will cover both what is working and what could use improvement.

2. In-line notes on your manuscript. Kevin will go through your manuscript and provide comments (where appropriate)  on smaller, more specific moments, such as when a joke really lands, when a transition is clunky, or when a plot point is confusing, etc. (Kevin will not proofread your manuscript for spelling or grammatical errors.)

3. A Zoom meeting to discuss the feedback. For longer projects (full-length plays and novels), Kevin will meet with the writer over Zoom to discuss his feedback in case the writer has any questions about the notes or needs additional advice on the project.

Kevin specializes in providing feedback on queer fiction, young adult fiction, middle grade fiction, science fiction, speculative fiction, literary fiction, and romance. He is happy, though, to provide feedback on novels outside these genres. For plays, all genres are welcome. Please note that at this time, Kevin is not able to critique non-fiction, personal essays, picture books, chapter books, academic papers, or poetry.

If you're interested in working with Kevin, please check out the various options below. You can reach out to him by using the form at the bottom of this page.

Ready to Request Feedback?

If you would like to request my editorial / dramaturgical services, please use the handy contact form below. I will get back to you within 48 hours to discuss my availability, pricing, and payment options (at this time I am only accepting Venmo or Zelle). When you fill out the form below, please remember to include the specific details of your project (play or novel, page length, genre if relevant, and how soon you need feedback). Having this information allows me to get back to you with a realistic timeframe for when I can offer feedback. If your project falls outside of the options listed above, that's okay! You can still reach out with the details, and I will see if I can help you.

    Two small notes:

    1. If we decide to work together, you will need to send me your project as a Word document ( .doc, .docx) if it is fiction and as a Word document or as a Final Draft file if it is a play. All in-line edits, comments, and notes will be done using Track Changes in Microsoft Word or Final Draft. Please do NOT send me PDFs or Google Docs.

    2. For fiction, please format your document with standard margins, double-spacing, and a 12pt font (preferably Times New Roman or similar) in order to determine its true length.  For plays, please use a 12pt font and standard Dramatist Guild play formatting or something equivalent.
